Recorded in Upper Egypt, this music includes four dances by the Abu Kherage mizmar band playing for a group of Ghawazee known as the Banat Mazin; a cane dance accompanied by salameya, tar and tabla; and rabab music played by the Metqal ensemble.

Review:
Exceptional quality and very useful for introducing students to the delights of folk and the mizmar! It's my most listened too folk CD.

Traditional instruments - all explained in the cd booklet – which is the major advantage of Hossams CDs – you get great liner notes. I haven’t listened or used this one enough ( yet!)

Review:
I bought this one initially as it was recommended for use in ATS classes but I think that the depth and quality of the music makes it far more useful. The first piece in particular is so uplifting!
