This series of 7 tapes has over 8 hours of footage of dancers from the films from the golden ages of Egyptian cinema from the 30’s to the 60’s. “The Great Unknown” which features less well known dancers – their names are listed below for information. Naima Akef, Tayehha Karioka and Samya Gamal have tapes in their own right. You can buy each tape separately as well as the whole range.
In my opinion: BUY THEM!
Not only because they contain rare footage of the dancers but also because it’s a valuable research and learning tool for the style, moves and costumes of the era. You can study dancers signature moves in depth as well as have a great video to just sit down and watch at leisure. I love them! My particular favourite is Katie who features on the Great unknown.
